Bed Encasement For Prevention

Do you have bed bug bites, a bed Encasement can help to keep the bed bugs away from you. Of course before you run off and buy a  bed encasement you need to know that the bites you have are actually bed bug bites. Some say that bed bugs leave a pattern when feeding, but looking a many photos of bed bug bites this does not appear to always be the case. There are some instances where Bed Encasementthere is a pattern but that would be from feeding being interrupted and re-injecting next to previous site.

So how can you tell what those bites are? You must find the bug that bit you. To find out what is causing the bed bug bites, bed covers must be turned back and mattress inspected. Look in the seams of the mattress and box springs for staining, shed skin, and dead bed bugs. To further inspect the bed bug bites, bed headboard should also be inspected look in cracks and crevices for the same shed skins, and dead bed bugs, you may also find live bed bugs.

Once you have found the source of the bites, bed must be thoroughly cleaned. The mattress should be vacuumed to gather all live bugs and eggs, vacuum the boxed springs also. After vacuuming seal vacuum bag inside a plastic bag for disposal. There are powders and sprays you can buy commercially to treat the mattress and boxed springs with just ensure they can be used on sleeping surfaces.

Use Bed Encasement After Treatment

Now that you have thoroughly cleaned the bed you must encase it in a plastic or vinyl bed encasement. Put tape sticky side out around the legs of the bed to catch any bed bugs trying to re-enter the bed. You should also pull the bed out from the wall. You may also want to consider putting Vaseline or inside out tape along the baseboard around the entire room. Why would you want to do that, believe it or not to get the bite, bed bugs have been known to climb a wall onto the ceiling over their host and drop onto them.

Now if you haven’t already you must clean and treat you entire house. You have protected yourself from the bites bed bugs can give at night, be sure to use a bed encasement for when they are with you again.

Use Bed Encasement When Traveling

You’ve seen the news stories about bed bugs in Hotels, there doesn’t seem to be a day without a new one. You can have piece of mind when traveling by taking a bed bug kit on the road with you. Most kits consist of bed bug powder or spray, suitcase covers, and bed encasement. So next time your on the road be sure to use a bed encasement for piece of mind and a good night sleep.
